Title of Workshop: "Helping Your Children to Succeed in School"
Date: 2 January 2018 (Tuesday)
Time: 12.45 p.m to 6.00 p.m
Venue: AVA Room

Workshop Synopsis:
The word "success" means different things to different people. As such, most parents would go to a great extent to start their children right on the pathway to success.

The workshop aimed to help parents understand that their children's success is not about how much they do for their children. It is about how parents make their children feel about themselves.

The workshop aimed to allow participants to:
  • Understand their children's growth and development and expectations of their performance;
  • Build self-esteem in children and
  • Understand parenting styles and parents' role in helping their children to succeed.

Parenting Workshop for Primary One Parents (2)

Title of Workshop: "Raising Children of Character"
Date: 3 January 2018 (Wednesday)
Time: 12.45 p.m to 6.00 p.m
Venue: AVA Room

Workshop Synopsis:
"Some people get all 'A's but flunk life," said novelist Walker Percy. "Succeeding in life takes character," he said. "Family is the cradle of learning".

Our parenting style greatly affects our children's ability to learn and the standard we teach and uphold has a profound impact on our children's moral development and behaviour. Our job as parents is to bring out the best in our children. Parents would have learnt some strategies to help their children build strong character as the foundation for a purposeful, productive and fulfilling life.

Aesthetic Workshop for Father and Child (For Primary One)

Title of Workshop: "Aesthetic Workshop for Father and Child"
Date: 24 March 2018 (Saturday)
Time: 9.00 a.m to 11.00 a.m
Venue 1: Music Room (for Music Workshop)
Venue 2: Classroom U2-01 on Level 2 for Art Workshop

Workshop Synopsis:
Visual Arts and Music provide a significant contribution to a child’s creativity and critical thinking ability. Exposure to these crafts is highly recommended for young children so that they can start exploring their artistic side and develop this talent early on in life.   We strongly believe that regular communication and bonding with your child is important in developing the parent-child relationship.   Hence, in order to develop the Artistic Edge in our pupils and foster father-child bonding, the school is organising an Aesthetics Workshop for 50 sets of fathers and children.  This workshop which is fully sponsored by FamilyMatters@Schools allows participants to gain an appreciation for the Aesthetics programmes in our school and provides an opportunity for them to bond through hands-on activities during the Art and Music making processes.
