AESTHETICS SPORTS |
|||
The concept of ‘Aesthetics Sports’ in Rulang was developed to
provide opportunities for our pupils to demonstrate beauty and
grace when performing routines in synchronisation to music.
Aesthetics sports nurture Rulangnites and develop them to be
confident and self-directed learners, innovative and enterprising
individuals adapting well to changes and able to work in teams to
communicate their thoughts and ideas effectively. Aesthetics Sports
also enable pupils to improve their physical health as they grow
and to support their mental well-being by providing them with
opportunities to express themselves and shine through
showmanship and sportsmanship. |

Rulang’s customised curriculum GEMS (Grow with Energetic
Movements and Shine) which was launched in 2009, currently looks
into two areas namely rope-skipping and wushu. Rulang takes on
a 3-pronged approach to develop GEMS as an emerging niche -
mass training for every pupil through mass PE lessons, talent
development to groom pupils with potential in CCA and
competition training, and establishing community partnerships
to enable more opportunities for exchanges of expertise. As
recognition of our efforts in this area, Rulang was awarded the
Programme for School-Based Excellence (PSE) Award for Rope-
Skipping by MOE in 2009. |
